About The Conduct of Life:

María Irene Fornés’ critically acclaimed drama The Conduct of Life presents an unflinching portrayal of the intersection between political and personal violence. The play follows Orlando, an army officer serving under the totalitarian government of an unnamed Latin American state. As he advances in his career, Orlando perpetrates state-sanctioned acts of violence, warping his psyche and gradually upending life in his household. His descent into a lifestyle of corruption and abuse leaves Orlando’s family grappling with the pernicious intrusion of state terror in their private lives. This riveting exploration of power, gender and greed provides a timely and brutal portrait of domestic life under authoritarianism.

El Barrio Raíces Summer Program 2018

El Barrio Raíces Summer Program is a four-week summer program that offers theater training to children between the ages of 7 and 10. The program is free of charge and open to residents of NYC. This year the program will prioritize children from Puerto Rico that were displaced by Hurricane María. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about all disciplines of theater, including acting, dance, make-up, ensemble work, costumes, and sets. Chronicle of a Death Foretold By Gabriel García Márquez

In March of 2019, for the 8th time in seven years, Boundless Theatre will present the magnificent adaptation of the great novel by Gabriel García Márquez, Chronicle of a Death Foretold. This production is part of our educational program in Puerto Rico. We have served more than 30,000 students in the past seven years. Teachers receive an educational guide to facilitate the discussion of the play in their classrooms. Boundless de Oro

Boundless de Oro is a bilingual theatrical workshop program conducted at senior centers in NYC, in collaboration with the Yolada Laprea Foundation. During this six week workshop, seniors at the East Harlem Neighborhood Senior Center were coached in acting, diction, and movement. They developed skills in script analysis, movement techniques, character development, all while exercising their minds and bodies and creating dynamic new art. The program culminated in a collaborative final showcase: a performance of La Peluca, a comedy written by Marcelo Rodriguez. This performance was free and open to the community, and took place on May 24th, 2019.


Boundless Exposed

Boundless Exposed is a mentoring program designed for early career theater designers of color. Designers have the opportunity to take the lead on a new theatre project installation, and work closely with experienced mentor designers. It includes a week of collaborative workshopping, as well as a final showcase open to outside audience members. Designers are selected through a proposal process.

This year’s participants, early-career designers Asia-Anansi McCallum, Alexis Perez, and Carol Jeong, had the opportunity to take the lead on a new theatre project installation, and work closely with experienced mentor designers. The final showcase, an installation event inspired by Migdalia Cruz’s Fur, took place on Saturday, June 1st at the Julia de Burgos Performance and Arts Center.
